The Museum’s collections of 19th-century European art include the
Samuel Josefowitz Collection of the School of Pont-Aven, acquired in
November 1998, and the Holliday Collection of Neo-Impressionism.
The collection
of 19th-century sculptures includes animal bronzes by Barye and
mythological subjects rendered in Neoclassical and Romantic styles, and
works by Jules Dalou and Auguste Rodin. The Museum also has a small nude
by Aristide Maillol, a terra cotta bust by Wilhelm Lehmbruck and a
full-figure sculpture by Joseph Bernard.

Albert R. and Elizabeth Beardsley commissioned architect E. Hill
Turnock to design and build Ruthmere in 1908. The house, furnished in
French style and reflecting the lifestyle of an affluent midwestern
family, was restored by the Beardsley Foundation between 1969-1973.
"The fine arts collection includes sculpture by Auguste Rodin,
Charles Russell, Antoine-Louis Barye, and William Ordway
Partridge."
