The present collection of the Ho-Am Art Museum was based on the collecting activities by the founder of the Samsung Group, the late Lee Byung-Chull (sobriquet Ho-Am). Located on land within the Everland park area in Yongin-si, Kyonggi Province, the museum, built in 1982, consists of a 4,300 sq. meters main building built in the traditional Korean house (han-ok) style, a 66,000 sq. meters traditional Korean garden, Heewon, and a sculpture garden with large works by Bourdelle.

In 1992 the museum merged with the Ho-Am Art Gallery in Seoul. The Rodin Wing was opened in 1995.
